Steve Flavel provides locum services both locally to the Maryborough / Hervey Bay region and to the broader QLD/NSW region.

As a previous owner of his own pharmacy for 18 years, Steve knows the importance of excellent team relations and good customer service so you can be assured your pharmacy is in great hands while you are having a well earned break from your pharmacy.

Steve's Pharmacist accredited training and skills involve

Dispensing - although currently only familiar with Z-Software, so please be aware that I may not be as up to speed with other software platforms just yet so you may need to allow for this in your staffing at this point in time.
Vaccination - Steve holds training certificates in Influenza and Covid vaccination, and indeed all other vaccinations which pharmacists are now permitted to administer in QLD. As part of the QCPP accreditation standard, Steve also holds current First Aid Certificate qualifications.
Buprenorphine Administration - In Steve's pharmacy, he had a client base of some 60 Buprenorphine patients who required administration of either Sublocade or Buvidal. Steve is very competent in the administration and subsequent recording of each of these medications to patients via slow injection
ODT Administration - While, for short term pharmacy locum visits, it is always recommended that doses be pre-prepared, Steve is capable of creating, dispensing and administering ODT medications.
Medschecks / Diabetes Medschecks (1)- Steve created his very own custom medscheck software as an add-on to his dispensary software in his own pharmacy. He is in the process of converting this to be used at any pharmacy to allow you and your most valuable customers to benefit from this value added service.

Book Steves Locum Services

Use this to fill in the necessary information about your pharmacy once I have confirmed my availability. This covers how I should bill you, and the information I need to send you a quotation for my services including your ABN, the pharmacy opening hours so I can work out pricing etc, where you are located and any logistical issues

This tells me the important information about your pharmacy that I need to know so I can take care of your pharmacy without issues arising (e.g. Pharmacy Login data / safe codes / Ordering Cut-off times etc). The more I know about your business, the more I can make your time away as seamless as possible... For all fields that require passwords, e.g. Dispensing Software / DD Book, Wifi, Register Login Code, Cvas Password, please enter these passwords in the same field as the username (e.g. Register Login Code Question... Other Value Added Services Available

Being a pharmacy owner for the last 17 years, Steve is proficient in many other aspects of dispensary / pharmacy management of which, given suitable time and resources, Steve may be able to offer on request. These include but are not limited to

Dangerous Drugs Book Reconciliation. Having trouble trying to get your DD book to balance? Steve can audit your DD book and determine the cause of the error for you saving you valuable time and hassle.
Dispensary Stock Ordering. Either a daily dispensary order to your supplier or a monthly bulk order based on your usage
CVAS Reporting. Usually performed on a Saturday, Steve can, with the appropriate usernames and passwords provided, ensure your pharmacy is up-to-date with vaccination report requirements on a weekly basis.
Vaccination Stock Ordering. As per above with CVAS reporting, with provision of username and password and appropriate reporting access, Steve can place orders for your upcoming vaccination requirements for you.
Accreditation Assistance. Steve developed excellent systems in his pharmacy which enabled him to sail through the accreditation process with ease. Should you find yourself in need of assistance in your accreditation, this can be provided as a separate service to the locum visit itself.
Team Training. Should your team need training in various aspects of pharmacy, Steve is happy to provide this as a task separare from his locum duties of course.

Local Locum Service - Maryborough / Hervey Bay

Locum Services are available in the Maryborough / Hervey Bay area for once off or regular locum coverage dependent on availability.

Priority is given to pharmacies that are interested in a regular booking and are flexible with their booking days to allow me to cater for the needs of those who require my services in rural and remote areas. While there is a minimum locum hourly rate (covered in the form), preference is obviously given to pharmacies who offer a higher rate than my standard minimum hourly rate.

Please note that locum services in the Hervey Bay area attract a 1 hour travel fee in addition to km allowance as per government standards of 99c/km

Distance Locum Service - QLD / NSW

Locum Services are available on application to pharmacies in QLD / NSW who need assistance for time periods of 1 to 4 weeks. When filling in the contact form, issues such as accommodation, etc are covered. If you are interested in a regular yearly / twice yearly / etc coverage, please note this in the comments field.

Booking Steves Locum Service

As a pharmacy owner, Steve knows all too well how difficult it can be to find time to call someone, especially if they are not available at the time and they need to call back. Steve also respects the fact that should he be currently working at a pharmacy at a given time, it is not appropriate to be taking calls and enquiries for other locum visits during time he is being paid to work as a locum in the pharmacy he is currently working in.

To make the process of contacting and booking Steve as efficient as possible, a custom built form has been created for you to fill in. Based on the answers you provide, various other details that are required, particularly on the first booking become available for the pharmacy to enter. Naturally, distance based locum visits require more information with regard to travel and accomodation rates etc. But are not relevant to local locum services.. In this way, the form has been tailored to minimise the time it takes to fill in giving you the capacity of 24/7 contact with Steve regardless of if he is working for another pharmacy at the time or otherwise unable to take your call.
